INFANCY/TODDLERHOOD
With the exception of the age
category, Infancy/Toddlerhood, all abuse cards have been grammatically
and syntactically written at the appropriate developmental level.
Children in the category, Infancy/Toddlerhood do not have the verbal
ability to describe abuse. Because children in the category are very
tactile, the premise is they do remember the abuse as a body memory,
manifested in behavioral and/or emotional actions, reactions, and
behaviors.
Nine-Months-Old
You are a beautiful
nine-month-old baby girl. You can crawl, sit-up, and pull yourself up
to a standing position in your crib. You love the sound your plastic
cup makes as you bang it up and down on the tray of your highchair. You
have a favorite blankie and yellow rabbit. You delight in the feel of
the warm summer sun and the freedom of crawling around outside with no
clothing on. |
